FORMULATION GUIDE
Caffeine powder is soluble in water. It is not soluble on its own in oil, so you would require an emulsifier in this case. In emulsions, add caffeine to the heated water phase, soluble in boiling water (80 C +) stir until dissolved and then process the formulation like normal.
It is recommended to add an antioxidant such as tocopherol vitamin E to prevent oxidation.
Caffeine has a natural pH of about 6, but it is best to reduce the pH slightly to below 5.5 or below. Formulate in acidic conditions below a pH of 5.5, as caffeine crystallises in alkaline solutions.
0.1-2% dissolve in water.
