Cocamidopropyl Betaine is a sulphate free surfactant that possesses excellent foaming and cleaning properties. It is a very mild, surfactant used to increase mildness, create great flash foam, and stabilize foams and bubbles, adding to their longevity. It works to increase viscosity when used with other surfactants that can be thickened by salt, such as sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium coco sulfate, and sodium laureth.
Can be used as both a primary and secondary surfactant, and its gentle nature allows it to be used as the primary surfactant in baby formulations. As a secondary surfactant it is great for supporting other surfactants and lather, and helps bring down pH. It doesn’t lather greatly on its own so is most commonly used in conjunction with another surfactant or surfactant blend.
It is used on its own as the sole surfactant for products for babies, children, and those with very dry or very sensitive skin, or in low surfactant, non-rinse facial products, such as micellar waters or make-up remover.

FORMULATION GUIDE
A widely used mild amphoteric surfactant derived from coconut oil, highly water soluble.
pH: 5 – 6 (10 % aqueous solution).
Used in concentration 4-40 % depending on the primary and / or secondary surfactants. Or can be added to formula as is.
Active Surfactant Matter: 30% and 40 - 45%
