Coenzyme Q10 (Ubiquinone) Powder
Coenzyme Q10 (Ubiquinone) Powder
Coenzyme Q10 (Ubiquinone) is a fat-soluble vitamin-like substance, similar to Vitamin E, present in every cell of the human body. Topically applied, Coenzyme Q10 can penetrate the cell layers of the skin and may attenuate the depth of wrinkles due to photo aging, as well as epithelial cell turnover.
Coenzyme Q10 has been known to aid in circulation, stimulate the immune system, increase tissue oxygenation, and provide vital anti-aging effects. It has also been known to effectively counteract free radical damage and provide significant protection against UVA-induced depletion of cell membrane, which can help to prevent damage to collagen and elastin production process.
Coenzyme Q10 in powder form can be used topically in skincare to formulate DIY skin care products or to be added to already made serum for face or body, cream, lotion, or liquid moisturizer to improve appearance, firm, and tighten sagging skin, stretch marks (stretchmarks), and various skin imperfections and blemishes.
Applications: eye creams, anti-wrinkle/anti-aging products., hair treatments or hair serums, pre or after sun lotions, hydrating or rejuvenation and moisturising skin care products.
Please note: Since Coenzyme Q10 has a deep orange colour, skin creams and lotions become usually slightly yellowish or orange with significant amount of Coenzyme Q10 in the product, depending on the amount used.

FORMULATION GUIDE
Coenzyme Q10 Powder is oil soluble, but its solubility is relatively low.
Mixing Method: To incorporate it into an oil, the oil should be gently heated to about 120°F and the powder stirred into it, wherein it will readily dissolve.
Due to its low solubility, it can precipitate out of solution in an oil over time. If this occurs, gently warm the oil and shake to redistribute the Coenzyme Q10 throughout the oil before formulating with it.
For emulsions:
Cold process: Simply add to the oil phase and heat sufficiently to dissolve before adding to a cold process emulsion
Hot process: Coenzyme Q10 is not heat sensitive and can be added to the oil phase of a formulation before heating or can be solubilized in a small amount of warmed oil and added later (the former method will insure complete emulsification of the oil and is preferred).
