Shea Butter is extracted from the nut of the African Shea Tree Growing in the Savannah of Western Africa, the butter helps protect skin and hair against the ravages of the hot sun, winds and dehydration.
Its anti-inflammatory properties can be helpful for skin conditions such as acne, dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, dandruff, allergies and insect bites, and it is thought to assist with wound healing, burns and stretch marks. Shea Butter can also protect against UV damage, having a sun protection factor (SPF) of between 6-10. It is mild enough to use on sensitive skin (patch test first) and is often used as a key ingredient in soothing skincare products for babies and children.
This moisture-rich emollient helps to smooth and soften your skin. It melts at body temperature and is easily absorbed. You can use shea butter in many natural products including body butters, lip balms, hair conditioners, skin moisturisers, soaps, massage candles and more.

FORMULATION GUIDE
Shea Butter is fat that has been extracted from the shea tree nuts. It is soluble in oil and alcohol but not water.
Can be used in concentrations of 1-100% and should be melted and added to oil part of mixtures.
